V. Eleanor (Carlstrom) Shaw, 90, of Kensington, widow of William "Bill" Shaw, passed away Thursday (February 18, 2010) at Bel-Air Manor in Newington. A New Britain native and former resident, she moved to Kensington in 1965. Eleanor was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1937 and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in New Britain.
Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn Reed of Lyme; a sister-in-law, Shirley Shaw of Newington; two grandchildren, Jennifer DeLucia and her husband Peter of Hamilton, New Jersey, and David Reed and his wife Rebecca of Gillett, PA; and five great grandchildren, Sean Hart, Kyle and Mya DeLucia; Samantha and Grace Reed. Besides her husband Bill, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Albert Reed III.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday (February 28, 2010) 12 noon at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery.
